Pros: Good price point for these specs with a Windows 7 License<br>Everything was as described**<br>All of the Windows 7 Pro Keys worked even though they had to be manually entered and activated.
Cons: 1.The Outside of the towers definitely show some use, In some places there were fairly large areas that had paint missing and it looks as though it was colored in with a sharpie, Nothing Major, no dents but a little bit of black paint would go along way. – <br><br>2.There are rivets showing through the bottom of the case, looks like the Internal cage for mounting drives was replaced and it was just riveted straight through the bottom.<br><br>to me the two issue’s above were not worth deducting an egg.<br><br>1.Memory Configurations vary in these Workstations. I ordered 6 Machines and received 3 that had 2x4GB of DDR3 10600 and 3 that had 1*4GB of DDR3 10600<br><br>2.One of the Six Machine that I ordered has a bad memory bank – DIMM’s 2 and 4 do not work and the computer will not boot with memory inserted into either of those two slots.<br>While the description of this item does not specify the memory configuration some consistency is expected.<br><br>3.On one of the machine’s the back panel connectors on the motherboard did not line up with the cut outs on the case. This was especially noticeable when adding an external video card, the VGA plug hits the hinged flap that folds down to secure the bracket of the PCI card making it somewhat difficult to plug in.<br><br>4.I was in a huge rush to get these and they took over 48 hours to ship.<br><br>-2 Eggs for these 4 issues.
Overall Review: Bought 6 of these and added 4GB and a cheap video card to get some additional outputs for multiple monitors. While everything did work and was as described, I couldn’t help but feel like I dodged a bullet on these. The first one out of the box was the one with faulty DIMM’s. I sweated through the rest of the setup thinking that I would be extremely lucky if that was the only thing wrong. <br><br>The product page for this lead me to believe that the warrant was through Dell If you follow the warranty link it says that refurb products may have additional manufacturer warranty, click the manufacturer link and it takes you to Dell’s website. When I received these there is a plain sheet of printed paper in them that explain that Joy Systems is the manufacturer and responsible for all warranty claims. I have yet to try to contact them about the faulty Motherboard since their hours are very inconveniently the same as mine (8:00 – 5:00 EST)<br><br>I was already nervous about buying refurb for a business and Had there not been an issue with the first one I opened it probably would have gotten four eggs, Over all These are good Machines.<br><br>I just had a change of heart and rated this 4 eggs instead of three as I originally intended. I wish I could do half an egg 3.5 Eggs on this one!!
