Pros: HGST drives are the quietest 7200 rpm drives in the industry. While these 10TB drives are considered and in-between drive, and are not purchased by companies like Backblaze; therefore, can’t be used for their reliability statistics. Still their drives have a great reputation in the data center industry.
Cons: Because these are an extension the 8TB drive technology, their magnetic grain’s ability to hold data for the long-tem is a concern. Personally, I wouldn’t be surprised if these drives hold data longer than 10 years.
Overall Review: I purchased this drive from ServerPartDeals which offers awesome customer service. The drive came with a SATA-to-SATA power disable cable for most people who don’t have a power supply with the power disable feature.
