Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher – HP DC7800 Tower Computer- 2.3GHz Intel Core2 Duo – 2GB – Windows 7 Home Premium (1 Year Warranty)

Pros: Mine arrived even better than the listed 2.3 Ghz Core 2 Duo. Mine is an E6750 Intel, which is 2.66 Ghz. I’ve liked it so much that I gave it a decent nVidia video card and kicked the DDR2 RAM up to 4 GB because I had some laying around unused.

Cons: No cons. These HPs are industrial quality builds with all the whistles and bells. It’s built like a battleship, performs like a battleship, and looks a little bit like a battleship, too. You want glamour instead? That’s why Satan makes shinier, pricier Apple PCs.

Overall Review: Since these “refurbished” Windows 7 PCs started showing up at Newegg a year or two ago, I’ve purchased 6 of them so far: 4 HPs and 2 Dells. Last year it was 2 Pentium Ds (single core, 2 threads). This year it’s been 3 Core 2 Duos and one Core 2 Quad. I’ve always built AMD machines because I couldn’t afford Intel CPUs. These refurbished Dells and HPs are easily comparable to the Windows 8 / AMD quads I built last year when Microsoft was promoting
