SMART seems to work (see cons)
Cons: Drive gave SMART errors 1 month into use. Died shortly after I made a backup as you should always do when given such errors.
Overall Review: I wanted to love this drive, as indicated below. But the failure rate is too high, despite great performance. Hitachi/Western Digital, if you’re reading this, you could have a winner, just fix your quality control!
Pros: possible extra warranty?
Cons: comes in generic brown box. no documentation or information. Had to throw this product away. Would not work without messing up my BIOS.
Overall Review: I installed this to replace an aging seagate same RPM and GB, in ASUS G60VX. The BIOS immediately went out computer unuseable. Had to take it to a computer shop. Cost $150.00 to fix bios and $150.00 for new Segate harddrive and load my OS. They told me never to install Toshiba harddrives in anything other than Toshebia laptops. I am sticking with Segate.
